Jukka Eskola Orquesta Bossa is a combo of a well-known jazz quintet and a string quartet – the famous Proton String Quartet – which highlights the musical soundscapes. The Eskola’s group performs its own compositions as well as Bossa nova and jazz standards adapted to Brazilian rhythms. Orquesta Bossa respects the Bossa nova tradition, but its compositions and arrangements take the music strongly into its own path. The album Orquesta Bossa was released worldwide by the Italian Schema Records in 2013, and it is still one of the most important recordings of trumpeter Jukka Eskola’s career. At the Porvoo Jazz Festival the renowned jazz singer Nina Mya will be the vocal soloist of the group. Her soulful and deep voice is perfectly suited to the sensual but strong Brazilian rhythms.
The concert is a cooperation of Porvoo Jazz Festival and Art Factory, both celebrating their 10th anniversary at Tehdassali!
