JIMI TENOR BAND

Jimi Tenor Band

Jimi Tenor is a Finnish musician, singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist. He has released several albums and collaborated with many artists such as Tony Allen, Maurice Fulton and Freestyle Man. Jimi Tenor’s music is known for its unique combination of jazz, electronic music, funk and African rhythms.

The Jimi Tenor Band started during the corona era when Jimi Tenor, who is internationally known and mainly performs abroad, started a collaboration with renowed finnish musicians Lauri Kallio, Heikki Tuhkanen and Eeti Nieminen. This line-up sounds bigger than its size and all the members bend from kimurant arrangements to wild solos. Jimi Tenor’s friend, Ghanaian Ekow “Ekowmania” Alabi Savage, who has been a drummer in his bands since 2004, also plays in the line-up.

As soon as the corona eased and Europe opened up, the band did an extensive German tour and individual gigs in Poland, Hungary, Serbia and Estonia. Jimi Tenor Band primarily plays songs from Jimi Tenor’s latest albums “Order Of Nothingness” and “Aulos” released by the Berlin label Philophon, but the set also includes Jimi Tenor’s older classics.
