Lampen

Drummer Tatu Rönkkö and guitarist Kalle Kalima played for the first time in the mountains of South Tyrol at the Bolzano Jazz Festival, where they were sent on a blind date gig to the village square with singer Andreas Schaerer. Both had left Finland to live abroad at different times, so it was a natural meeting place. There they improvised freely together. Inspired by the experience, they played a few gigs in Berlin and Hamburg as a duo. The music condenses into free and spontaneous collective compositions that head towards the fringes of minimal rock and electronic music. The debut was recorded in a session at Studio Zentrifuge in Berlin.

“The Debut is an edgy, sparsely adorned affair where dreamy scenes (Lampen) and dark visages (Stempel) collide amid slowly unfurling motifs. Post-jazz, post-rock, post-ambient, but frequently dazzling“ 4/5 Stars (Mojo).
