SUNDAY, Sept. 27, at 5 p.m. / Art Hall

1 Läntinen Aleksanterinkatu / S - All Ages

This concert explores the boundaries between poetry and music, tradition and the present. Chamber music, improvisation, art music, and the soundscapes of the Renaissance come together in a delicate and distinctive acoustic soundscape.

In addition to rare works by composers such as Paavo Heininen and Philippe de Monte, the program is built around the unique arrangements by Seppo Kantonen and Anders Jormin, in which music and poetry intertwine to form a profound artistic dialogue. Texts by Karin Boye, Pentti Saarikoski, Pär Lagerkvist, A. W. Yrjänä, Edith Södergran, Olli-Matti Ronimus, Aleksi Barrière, and Tomas Tranströmer give voice to the program’s themes and deepen its expression.
