Porvoo Jazz Festival is a warm hearted jazz festival that invests in quality and intimate, a bit of a bohemian atmosphere. We do not take jazz too seriously, instead we focus on creating experiences where we can make our musicians and audience feel cozy and comfortable. Interactivity between the bands and the audience is also very important to us and we want to use venues where we can share the feel of togetherness.
The Porvoo Jazz Festival has been organized every autumn since 2013. The festival is located in the heart of Porvoo and the monthly Porvoo Jazz Clubs are arranged in the cultural space Vanha 123,which is renovated by the association. The former movie theater with three cozy halls and two bars is apt to create a setting for concerts where the audience becomes a part of the experience.
The festival is organized by Porvoo Jazz Festival ry. It is curated by jazz drummer Jaska Lukkarinen the current artistic director and saxophonist Max Zenger who will be the new artistic director from autumn 2023-.
SIZE DOESN’T MATTER, JAZZ DOES!
