Veikka Kajamies 4 People is an energetic quartet of young Finnish jazz stars whose bold, seamless ensemble playing sweeps the listener along with original compositions painted with broad strokes and innovatively arranged covers.
Powerful rhythmic ideas and grooves, striking contrasts, and a deep understanding of the jazz tradition are the hallmarks of the Taimi Award-winning drummer from Turku Veikka The foundation of Kajamies’ musical language. He has gathered around him a group of his favorite musicians and friends from the jazz department of the Sibelius Academy. On piano and clarinet is Taimi Award-winning Joonatan Henriksson; on guitar is Johannes Granroth, known from his band Peela; and on bass is Otso Huhtala, familiar from the ranks of UMO.
