Signe Emmeluth’s Amoeba (DNK/NO) is a Danish-Norwegian quartet led by saxophonist and composer Signe Emmeluth. The band’s music is playful, intense, and unpredictable—it moves seamlessly between composed material and free improvisation, at times delicate, at times explosively energetic.

Through their long history of performing together, the quartet has evolved into an almost telepathic unit, “a single cell, a single organism.” In addition to Emmeluth, the lineup features Karl Bjorå (guitar), Christian Balvig (piano), and Ole Mofjell (drums).

The band has performed at events such as the Saalfelden Jazz Festival, Artacts, and Oslo Jazz, and has released several albums. Emmeluth’s Amoeba is known for its bold yet accessible expressiveness and strong stage presence.
