In Vanha 123 you will experience two concerts with one ticket. The doors to the venue will open at 7.15 p.m. when you will get the chance to relax perhaps with a glass of wine. The two gigs will start at the same time in different halls at 8 p.m. During a small break the audience will switch halls and hear the other band starting at 9:15 p.m. Pope Puolitaival Nordic4 is playing the same evening together with Susanna Aleksandra Quartet. Now in Helsinki located Susanna Aleksandra is one of Estonia’s top jazz singers who keeps her audience enchanted with her effortless and easily approachable performances which combines the influences of traditional jazz, classical music, pop and folk and that together could be described as modern jazz. The quartet’s album Souls of the Night was released in Japan in March 2020, and will see daylight in Europe at the beginning of 2021. Currently she is finishing her graduate studies at the Sibelius Academy with professor Jukkis Uotila and Doctor Aija Puurtinen and is studying also at the USC Thornton School of Music with the two-time Grammy nominated jazz vocalist Sara Gazarek and Grammy winners Vince Mendoza and Bob Mintzer in Los Angeles.
“Smooth, effortless and accessible without ever being bland, this is a mainstream jazz album to treasure, with Aleksandra a real talent to watch. You’ll be happy to fall under The Siren’s spell.”
